The finish we use is made by ML Campbell - Magnamax, Crystal & Eurobild, which are very strong and high quality products. With little care of your wood cabinets, you will enjoy them for many years to come. We recommend cleaning your cabinets occasionally with lemon oil to help retain it's natural beauty. It is very easy to use, just as if you were using Pledge. It keeps them moisturized, shiny and removes fingerprints and drips. Don't forget to do your drawers and shelves inside. For High use spaces such as inside your trash cabinet and can-goods drawer I recommend adding a layer of clear contact paper because they tend to get scratched up over time and this gives them the added protection to keep them looking nice. Although painted kitchens do not need Lemon oil on the outside, keep in mind that we use natural maple on the inside of the cabinets, for drawers and shelves so they can benefit from Lemon oil as well. Keeping the wood from getting wet is also a good idea too. Do not put your pots and pans away wet because it is not good for your wood or painted cabinets and can eventually start to get splits and paint will chip. A Note About Wood Floors: Although we do not sell wood floors, we have noticed many of our clients are told different things about what to use on their hardwood floors. Remember that they are also real wood, and using water will seep into the cracks and will eventually cause them to swell, cup or split. I do not recommend using soap and water on them unless you are using just a damp cloth. Instead I recommend using the Bona Floor care System. It is not expensive and can be found online as well as Home Depot. It comes with a mop that does not saturate your floor, and the product cleans very nicely for about 30.00 including the mop. I would never recommend using a loose "janitor style" mop on your floor, it will saturate your floor in crevices and up against your cabinets. Your cabinets could eventually swell from the excessive moisture. With just a little bit of TLC you will enjoy the natural beauty of your wood products for a lifetime. |
